What Owners Say
""Navigation through CarPlay has been completely useless for the past 5+ years. At some point while driving (anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes) the map completely locks up or the entire screen locks, resets, or goes blank. Dealer has updated the car software and recommended fixes, but none have worked. Using newest Apple cords, newest Apple Phone, updates to iOs, etc. All failed and the dealer says there is no fix or it's Apple's problem. I had bought the warranty when the car was new and though the repair/update attempts were free, the problem was never resolved.""
Anonymous, NY (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)""Its been going on for sometime. Its particularly noticeable on the GPS screen. It will freeze up. Sometimes I can get it back by hitting the menu button. Other times, I have to disconnect my iPhone and reconnect it. It often takes multiple attempts.""

Anonymous, NC (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)""A few times, the screen has just gone blank. It continues until I restart the car. Very frustrating.""
Anonymous, MO (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)"Loud static noises started to emanate from the speakers. The annoyance was intermittent. Ultimately the head unit needed to be replaced."
Anonymous A., IL (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)"The radio and all communications from the car generated a very loud white noise after 15 or so minutes of operation. The diagnosis was that some electronics in the head unit failed and the entire head unit required replacement at a cost of $1500. It took three weeks for the replacement to arrive from Honda. When installed, the first replacement head unit was defective and a replacement for the replacement had to be ordered. This required over four weeks as there were no head units available but were being made by the manufacturer."
Anonymous A., NC (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)""When I bought the car (new) in 2017, I was given 5 years of free map updates that could be applied once per year. After the second year, the update feature failed to update the maps. Honda dealer stated that I could bring the car in for service (I would need to pay for the service visit) and they would try & update the system software with the newest version (no guarantee that it would solve the problem). I didn't want to pay for the service call to get a free map update for 3 more years, since alternatives to the latest maps are available (Google Maps, Waze, Apple Maps, etc.) The use of the built in Navigation system is cumbersome to use anyway, so I just live with the maps from 2019.""
Anonymous A., CA (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)"Often but not always the Bluetooth pairing system refuses to pair with one of our iphones. Also the user interface for telling it to pair is unnecessarily complicated."
Anonymous, CA (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)"The radio cooling fan went out which made the radio produce a loud buzzing sound."
Anonymous, SC (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)""When the battery was dying, the power of the power steering was out.""

""Apple Car Play works for the first 30 minutes or so, but freezes after that time. It is very annoying when using the Google Maps for navigation. Music continues to play, but I cannot get back to the home screen to try & fix the problem. The only solution is to unplug the iPhone and re-plug it back in to the connecting cable. This works about half the time. The other half, I need to stop the car and turn off the engine and wait for a few minutes & restart the car, plug the phone back into the cable. Honda dealership recommended I delete my phone from the car infotainment and re-adding it back in to the system. This did not work and they said that I could pay for a repair service to see if they could update the infotainment software to the latest version (though they wouldn't guarantee that this would work). I'm just living with the issue since I don't want to pay for a service that wouldn't guarantee a solution to the problem.""
