"It probably started about a year ago. The power steering pump sits above the alternator and the alternator went out, got that replaced, then it happened again so got it replaced again. No one noticed the PS leak so it wasn't diagnosed until the car started to lose PS. Once we investigated the PS loss, replaced some o-rings, it got better but not cured. Turned out to be a small leak in the pump causing the fluid to drip onto the alternator wearing them out."

""I am facing the second replacement of the Variable Valve Timing Actuator on this LX-P Accord. I bought the car with 500 miles on it. I had the first one replaced at about 73K miles. I had valve clearance set about a year ago, and had VVT inspected, with no problems. Now, about 9000 miles later, it is failing, and not just making noise in cold weather. Engine oil usage (which some say is related) is about a quart every 1K miles, so I am constantly checking oil to make sure OK. This is a known problem for these cars (VVT and excessive oil use) and Honda chooses not to help consumers. This is my 4th Honda over 30 years, and my last until Honda improves its reliability. My most recent van purchase was another brand to replace my 23 year old Honda Odyssey.""
