    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Apple CarPlay

""Head unit is under powered and freezes, and blanks both displays. Only with full screen CarPlay.""

Anonymous, IL (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"When using CarPlay for navigation, the entire CarPlay function stops. Only navigation. If I were to do anything else (phone, music), it works fine."

    Anonymous, VA (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)

"Would drop phone connection and I would have to unplug and reconnect"

Anonymous, GA (2016 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)

"The system routinely froze up when I used a standard USB cable. I ended up buying an Ottobox module to use the system wirelessly and it works much better now with only one freeze-up over the past six months of use. Worth it for a $60 add-on."

    Anonymous A., FL (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)

"GPS using apple car play freezes up after 10 minutes of use"

Anonymous, NE (2016 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)

""The screen freezes when using the Maps feature of Apple CarPlay, especially when there is a bump in the road.""

Anonymous, CA (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"It reliably crashes after about 20 minutes of usage and when it goes it often crashes the entire entertainment screens. It's so bad I only use normal bluetooth for streaming music and GPS now."

Anonymous, PA (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
    Backup or other camera/sensors

"the camera failed. the display is still available but no picture"

Anonymous A., AR (2016 Honda Accord Sport 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"The backup camera mount broke. The camera was loose and unusable until it was replaced."

Anonymous, IL (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
    Display screen freezes up

""The GPS feature of Apple CarPlay will freeze, especially when there is a bump in the road.""

Anonymous, CA (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"Often freezes when using maps in apple CarPlay. It almost always does it if music is listened to simultaneously."

Anonymous, FL (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

""When driving and the phone is plugged into the car (iPhone) the screen will freeze up intermittently. This causes major problems when relying on using the display for directions or obtaining information. This malfunction leads to distracted driving (driving and trying to troubleshoot or fumbling to unlock the phone and bring up the information on the phone (distracted and using a phone while driving, I HATE THAT). It causes stress and increases the chance of a traffic collision or incident.""

Anonymous A., TX (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"GPS freezes up after a few miles of travel. GPS is from apple car play and not the installed GPS from Garmin"

Anonymous, NE (2016 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)
    Display screen goes blank

"Would take several minutes to boot, then was in anti-theft mode and it reset a lot of settings"

Anonymous, TX (2016 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)

"display screen doesn't always initiate all items"

    Anonymous, NY (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"Sometimes the infotainment system crashes mostly when apple car play is connected. When this happens the entire dual center displays completely turn off and then the system must reboot. This issue only affects the entertainment system so the car can still be driven."

Anonymous, PA (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"Sometimes the screen goes blank and no matter pressing the power button sometimes the car has to be restarted before the display will operate again. This issue causes frustration and stress and leads to distracted driving to troubleshoot or fumbling for the mobile phone if I was following on screen directions."

Anonymous A., TX (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
    Hardware replacement

"Loud static noise. Started 3 yrs ago. Experiencing currently daily. Dealership said the navigation head unit need to be replaced. Have not replaced too costly!!! Have found on the internet thousands of Honda customers are having the same issues. Talk to Honda customer service many times!!!! NO RELIEF"

Anonymous, MS (2016 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)
    In-dash navigation system (GPS)

""GPS navigation never worked well (ie, it gave very poor, convoluted directions). One time, I put in my address within my town, and it took me on such an indirect route that I decided I would never rely on it again.""

    Anonymous, MA (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
    Other in-car electronics problem

"The dealership changed out the rear speakers and sub woofer but the noise was still there. Then they changed the amplifier which made no difference. Eventually they said the problem was the display and the replacement cost was $4000.00. This is when I called Honda Motor Company and asked for assistance in paying for the display. Honda eventually agreed to pay $1300.00 towards the cost of the display. Customer loyalty was the reason. It took almost two and a half months to have this problem resolved."

Anonymous, FL (2016 Honda Accord EX 3.5-L V6)
    Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

""The head unit will sometimes not recognize the Phone when plugging in the apple lightening cable when the car is first started, and it happens almost always if the unit freezes during a drive while using the maps app, after which the only way to get it to work is shut the car off completely, then turn back on, then plug in phone cable again. this is the most annoying problem with the car. It never occurred during the first 1-2 years of ownership, but I believe the frequent upgrades by apple, combined with the non-upgradable head unit, and that it is running some older kernel version of Linux, and the hardware cpu is underpowered and cant keep up, all combine and contribute to these problems. An upgradeable unit would be a godsend but I dont see any manufacturers offering this, perhaps to much additional work when they cant keep up with the current level of information technology complexity,""

Anonymous, FL (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
    Radio

"Bad head unit. Loud feedback noise that does not stop and makes all audio inoperable"

Anonymous, ON (2016 Honda Accord Touring 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Anonymous, TX (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

    "Needed a new starter"

Anonymous, NY (2016 Honda Accord LX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"The rear window glass shattered and imploded in its own."

    Anonymous, MN (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"Garmin GPS never worked correctly. Separately replaced radio, antenna. GPS never worked beyond 60%. GPS sensor would track vehicle and accurately show vehicle indicator on vehicle map and destination but then would completely lose visual. At that point voice would continue to issue recalculating message giving erroneous correction instructions. GPS had no idea where vehicle was located. Dangerous and disturbing directions. I spent over $1800 at 2 different dealers trying to get it fixed. NEVER solved the problem. Honda never accepted responsibility!!!"

Anonymous, ME (2016 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)

"Occasionally has problem starting since November 2024. Replaced starter by private mechanic but problem didn't resolve. Plan to take it to the dealer but haven't that done yet. Still has starting problem once every few days for half a year now."
