    Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Android Auto

    "Doesn't work at all, anymore."

Anonymous, MD (2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Hardware replacement

"My screen has significant intermittent issues. The lane warning of another car doesn't constantly work. The back up camera works then it doesn't. The blue link went under an update on Feb 6th and hadn't worked correctly since. 4 software updates to fix from February to April didn't fix the issue. This is when all my issues began. The transmission shifting issues, the unsmooth shift from ev to engine, the intermittent issues of lane car warnings, and maps stopped working. I cannot download my contact lists on my phone anymore. Blue link stopped working and that's when all my issues started."

Anonymous, MD (2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

"I keep being told to unlock my phone so a call can be made"

Anonymous A., CA (2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Unsure 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    Noises/Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

    What Owners Say

Sensors (O₂, or oxygen, sensor), emission-control devices (includes EGR), fuel-injection system, fuel gauge/sender, fuel pump, problems filling up the tank.

    What Owners Say

Anonymous A., NC (2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    EV Battery

Electric/hybrid battery pack failure, replacement or malfunction, or cooling.

    What Owners Say

    Electric/hybrid battery pack replacement

    What Owners Say

    12V battery

""The 12V battery had an issue maintaining it's charge sporadically. It would sometimes deplete in an hour after being parked. When this happens, the A/C settings, trip odometer, and Hyundai Blue Link would stop working. The issue started shortly after we got it. We took it to the dealership and couldn't figure it out (or didn't believe us) within 1 hour so they gave up and gave us back the car. By luck, when I turned the car on at the dealership, it had happened again so I was able to show them. They pulled in a Hyundai field tech and found the battery management system needed a software update that is separate from the OTA updates the rest of the car gets.""
