What Owners Say
"engine froze with no indication or warning lights. mileage 53000 miles. 14 weeks to diagnose and replace. at no cost."
Anonymous, FL (2015 Hyundai Sonata SE 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Just this month, Car broke down on the road about 200 miles from home. There was an extended warranty due to past engine failure class action, so engine replacement did not cost out of pocket. Our son experienced the same problem in a 2017 Kia Optima at about the same mileage in 2023, but his engine replacement was not covered."
Anonymous, IL (2015 Hyundai Sonata SE 2.4-L 4 Cyl)""At about 90,000 miles the engine cut out on my wife while on a major freeway in Utah, I was in CA at the time. Car had to be towed because it would not start and the warning lights on the dash warned her to NOT try to start the car. The car was running flawlessly prior to breaking down, so this happened with no warning. It was explained to us at the Hyundai dealership that the error code indicated that the engine must be replaced and the car would be in the shop for about 1 month. We also learned that this error code was a known and common problem with that engine for that year.""

Anonymous, ON (2015 Hyundai Sonata SE 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Starting was intermittent. Charging the battery still led to intermittent starting. Initially thought it was the gear shift sensor not sensing engine was in park. Eventually diagnosed the starter/solenoid which needed to be replaced."
