What Owners Say
""The screen didn't necessarily go blank but it wouldn't display information. If I changed a music channel, the screen wouldn't show that""
Anonymous, CA (2024 Hyundai Sonata SEL 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"For no discernible reason, the speedometer indicates that I am going approximately 4 mph faster than I actually am (as measured by multiple different GPS units and different cars that are driving right behind me). This seems to happen basically every other time I start the car. One time, the speed is accurate. If I stop to use the restroom and get back in the car, the speed is overestimated again. This has been going on since I got the car. I only know about it because my wife and daughter have noted it repeatedly when they are following in another car. They'll ask me why I'm driving so slow, and when I tell them my displayed speed, it's consistently 4 mph faster than they say my actual speed is. I then compare to Waze or Google Maps and they both confirm that the speed is incorrect. Worse yet, I have taken this to the dealer, and they have been able to reproduce the problem. When they contact Hyundai, they are told it is NORMAL!!! This is a known problem that many people complain about in online forums, and which Hyundai apparently acknowledges, but pretends it isn't actually a problem! Utter nonsense that they deserve to be outed and shamed over! They know this is a problem and they simply don't want to fix it! For this reason and this reason alone, I probably won't buy another Hyundai (or for that matter, Genesis or Kia either). I love the car otherwise, but this is truly shameful behavior by the company."
