What Owners Say
""At times the screen when stopped in traffic, will freeze up. Will not be able to change the music and or make modifications to the NAV route, etc.""
Anonymous, MD (2017 Mazda 6 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"it restarts constantly"
Anonymous, ON (2017 Mazda 6 Sport 2.5-L 4 Cyl)""In-dash display touch screen experiences "ghost touch" issue in last 12-18 months when car is in sun or hot weather. Per dealer, issue was with materials behind the screen swelling with age and triggering the touch screen without actual driver input. Required replacement with a repair kit, which is pending and to be done 3 weeks from the date of this message (part needed ordered and other repairs were done first).""
Anonymous, PA (2017 Mazda 6 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"Ghost Touch is what Mazda is calling it. The touch screen just starts doing its own thing like I would be touching it. The screen would just start jumping around from screen, it even would make phone calls. There is a pending lawsuit about Mazda having to repair it under warranty since the issue is widespread."
Anonymous, KS (2017 Mazda 6 Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)""Display screen started cracking in the corners and touch functionality stopped working around 40k miles. Has spider-webbed from the cracks and yellowed in those areas. Might be from the heat from the sun, as it would get pretty hot even in cold winter mountain west months if the sun was left beating down on it. Likely could've been avoided had I gotten a sunshade before the cracks started happening. The car's physical controls on steering wheel and infotainment knobs/buttons work great (part of why I chose this car), so having the touch-aspect of the screen not work is fine by me because I barely touched it before. Still works fine for Apple Carplay/Android Auto for maps, music, etc. The areas where the cracks are make it difficult to view when the sun hits it from the side, which can be a problem when trying to navigate. Quoted $1.5k to replace the unit from Mazda dealer.""
Anonymous, UT (2017 Mazda 6 Sport 2.5-L 4 Cyl)""I have not addressed the display problems with my dealer as it would not be under warranty. It seems to be worse when the temperature is high, which means I will begin to have more issues soon (Texas). For a while, it seemed worse when I was at traffic lights, so I thought that maybe it was some kind of interference from radio signals, but it's hard to take a vehicle to the dealer for a problem when you can't replicate it right away. from a web search, it seems like this is a common problem with no really satisfactory solution.""
Anonymous, TX (2017 Mazda 6 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"The infotainment screen started to crack from the inside over a year ago but has continued to get worse. Have not decided whether to repair it due the cost (almost $1,000). Screen is almost unusable during daylight hours but better when it's dark out. Is more of a defect than regular wear and tear."
Anonymous, VA (2017 Mazda 6 Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"The front door speakers are known to tear prematurely. I have experiences this with both my 2015 Mazda3 and 2017 Mazda6"
