What Owners Say
""Both front control arms, links and were replaced as well as the rear hub. This is the 2nd time these have been replaced, in 80000 Km.""
Anonymous, QC (2020 Tesla Model 3 Long Range Electric)"I was getting a creaking noise years ago at about 52,000 miles. Tesla said it was a problem with the control arm getting grease to the ball joint. Cost about $200 to replace as I was 2k miles out of warranty, frustrating because there were others there the same day with less miles that got it done for free. The other side of the car started creaking awhile after that, maybe at about 80k miles. I let it go until just last week I finally brought it in and there were cracks in the suspension and I spent about $2k to have it replaced"
Anonymous, NJ (2020 Tesla Model 3 Performance Electric)"Worn upper control arm caused squeaking noise when turning - worn out prematurely"
Anonymous, FL (2020 Tesla Model 3 Standard Electric)""First, can I say IN THE PAST I would not have hesitated to have my name used, but in todays retribution and political environment, I do NOT feel safe sharing!!! So, for suspension issues. First off, I cannot tell you EXACTLY what components of suspension failed... I started having a knocking noise for some time driving on slightly rough city streets, even small joints would cause the R front 'suspension' to knock. I stopped by the Tesla dealer (45 mi from my home) and they said it was likely a strut... I think. I scheduled an appointment to find out it was the WHOLE suspension system that had failed. Not even 40K miles!! $2600!! Yes it is a heavy car, but I do not drive it crazily - I use a 'Drive Safe and Save' monitor and I get very few 'dings.' Our entry to our housing developement is a relatively deep dip and I have to angle across it to not bump. I can hear/feel the tires pop through the low parts as I drive in or out. I figured this was part of my issue, but Tesla ultimately said it wasn't. I would love to have some documentation to pressure our HOA to fix our entry drive. Anyhow, I am not a mechanic and I cannot tell you all the parts that failed exactly. I probably have the invoice...but, maybe it isn't that helpful. Nuts, washers, links, nylon patches, compliance links, damper assemblies. I have no idea what these refer to. Pricey to be sure.""
Anonymous, CO (2020 Tesla Model 3 Long Range Electric)"Problems in front suspension having to do with connecting parts of some sort."
Anonymous, CA (2020 Tesla Model 3 Long Range Electric)"Front upper control arms replaced"
Anonymous, CA (2020 Tesla Model 3 Long Range Electric)""I'm not even sure if it was tie rods, it was just some problem in the front suspension that was revealed on an inspection I had performed before the used car warranty (90 days} expired""

"Paid Tesla $240.00 to inspect car prior to expiration of warranty. Six months later had to pay $1700.00 for replacement of upper control arms and lower front links. Not happy"
