If you’re in the market for small kitchen appliances, like air fryers and blenders, trusty Dutch ovens, and other kitchen tools, you’ve come to the right place. We keep tabs on everything we test all year long, and there are some good prices right now. Unfortunately, in the wake of Prime Day and July Fourth, there aren’t as many impressive offers right now. The savings we are seeing are a bit more modest, and options are a bit more limited. But back-to-school sales are starting soon, and with college kids moving into dorms or their first apartments, we do tend to see an uptick in kitchen sales. And Labor Day at the end of summer may bring even more opportunities to save.
A good deal is about more than just the price, so we also look at the item’s quality based on how it performs in our lab tests and at-home evaluations. Everything on this list isn’t only going to be easy on your wallet, but it’s also going to be a great addition to your kitchen and last a long time to come.

Cookware
At its list price, the Hestan ProBond Professional Clad SET 25 is the most expensive in CR’s ratings, and right now it’s just $35 more than its Prime Day price. This set includes three pots, three pans, and four lids, is dishwasher-safe and oven-safe to 500° F. Like all stainless steel cookware, it’s induction cooktop compatible, and this high-end stainless steel cookware set does come with a lifetime warranty.
The celebrity-chef-named GreenPan Bobby Flay Chef Series Uncoated Stainless Steel 10" and 12" set is a top scorer in our stainless steel frying pan ratings, earning impressive scores across all of our tests. And the sale price at Amazon is actually $10 less than what we saw for Prime Day. The pan itself is oven-safe to 600° F (the lid is oven-safe to 425° F), it’s dishwasher-safe, and induction-cooktop compatible. Its handle temperature while cooking isn’t the best, though, so you might want to keep a potholder handy just in case.
If you’re looking to seriously upgrade your frying pan, consider the Hestan ProBond Professional Clad. It’s dishwasher-safe, oven-safe to 600° F, and has a lifetime warranty. It earns impressive scores all around in our tests for cooking evenness, handle temperature, handle sturdiness, and ease of cleaning (the latter being a concern among many who are new to cooking in stainless steel). However, this pan is on the small side, with a diameter of just 8.5 inches.
The ceramic-coated nonstick Our Place Perfect Pot is a popular Dutch oven, and it’s a top performer in our lab tests where we bake bread, simmer sauces, clean, and evaluate how quickly and evenly each Dutch oven heats. The one area where this pot scores less well is handle temperature, so you’ll want to keep a potholder handy if you choose this model. Overall, it’s an attractive and versatile piece of cookware for your kitchen, and this sale price is just $5 more than it was for Prime Day.
Air Fryers
The Cuisinart AIR-200 air fryer features a digital display, a viewing window, and a shake reminder to ensure your food is evenly crispy. It can roast, bake, broil, and keep your food warm, plus it’s dishwasher safe. We did see this air fryer at a lower price this past Black Friday, but it’s still a good deal right now.
The Ninja Foodi DZ550 is a large air fryer fit for a crowd. It has two separate baskets for cooking two different foods at the same time, and we measured its capacity at 7.4 quarts. It earns impressive scores in our lab tests for its controls, convenience, and cleaning, but it may be on the noisy side. And it weighs a hefty 19 pounds, so you may want to leave this air fryer on the counter. At about 30 percent off, this is a great buy if you need a large air fryer for your household.
Dash may not have the same name recognition as Ninja or Cuisinart, but the 2.6-quart Dash Tasti-Crisp Ceramic DCAF26CM air fryer earns solid scores in CR’s tests and comes at a sale price that’s better than we’ve seen so far for this model. With food contact surfaces made of nonstick ceramic, it earns top marks for ease of cleaning even though it’s not dishwasher safe. We found it runs more quietly than many other air fryer models to boot. The DCAF26CM has a small footprint, making it a smart choice for a dorm room or for those with limited counter space.
The Instant Vortex Slim air fryer, which typically sells for $120, is an all-around strong performer, with intuitive controls and quiet operation, and we found it pretty easy to clean, too. At 11 inches in width and 12 inches in height, it won’t be overly obtrusive on your countertop, though it is fairly deep (18 inches). It has a measured capacity of 4.9 quarts, five cooking modes (air fry, broil, bake, roast, and reheat), and one-touch programs to cook a range of foods, including wings, vegetables, potatoes, cookies, and more. It comes with a 1-year warranty.
Coffee Makers
The Keurig K-Supreme is back down to the same low we saw for Prime Day. It’s a top performer when it comes to first-cup speed, size consistency, and convenience. It also delivers subsequent cups quickly after the first, important if you plan to serve multiple cups. Its settings let you easily adjust the brew’s strength. Like many K-Cup machines, this coffee maker’s features include auto-shutoff, a removable reservoir, and a height-adjustable drip tray.
The Hamilton Beach Advanced 5-in-1 (49965F) dual coffee maker makes both drip coffee and pod coffee. It receives a top score in our drip coffee brew performance tests, which means you’re likely to get a full pot that tastes great. It comes with brew-strength controls and a small-batch setting, and it’s generally easy to use. It does a little less well when it comes to its pod coffee capabilities. While it makes a quick first cup, subsequent cups may not be served up as quickly as you’d expect. Especially if getting the best flavor in a drip brew is your priority, this model at this price is worth considering, even if it is $10 more than it was for Prime Day.
You can expect a speedy cup from the Nespresso Vertuo Lattissima single-serve coffee maker. It’s convenient and has controls for brew size and strength. Temperatures aren’t the most consistent from cup to cup in our tests, though that may not matter much if you plan to add hot foam from the built-in milk frother.
Toasters
The GE G9OAAASSPSS received excellent scores for ease of use and ease of cleaning—good news, especially if you’re new to air-frying. We also found that this model reliably turns out evenly browned toast, whether you’re toasting one piece or a full batch (though the latter might take some time). It’s also only so-so at reheating food, which we tested by reheating lasagna and taking various temperature readings to look for even heating.
The Cuisinart CPT-520 2-Slice toaster allows you to customize your toast by selecting a specific type, such as white bread, pastry, whole wheat, waffle, or English muffin, for a toast job optimized for that specific texture. The Cuisinart CPT-415 Countdown Metal 2-Slice and the similar Cuisinart CPT-435 Countdown Metal 4-Slice are also high scorers. They ace our lab tests for color range and excel in our full-batch and toasting time tests. All three models feature a bagel setting that allows you to toast one side of the bagel more than the other, resulting in a crispy bite on one side and a nice chew on the other. On the four-slice Cuisinart model, there’s one set of controls for two slices on one side and a separate set of controls for two slices on the other. Our testers found these machines easy to use, and each comes with a three-year warranty.
Blenders
The Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System BN801 may be noisy—most blenders are—but if you operate in short bursts, you may not mind considering how well it performs in our icy drink, puree, and ice crush tests. It’s also one of the most durable we’ve tested. If you don’t have a Vitamix-caliber budget, this blender could be the perfect option for you, especially at this price.
The Ninja BL770 plays two roles: as a full-sized blender, and as a personal blender with an internal spinner and cup that’s meant for small batches. It’s a very good performer either way, handily crushing ice and capably preparing smoothies and other icy beverages. It’s also very convenient—though more so when using the full-sized blending jar. In puréeing, the personal-blender version is the star, though the full-sized version still purées very well. The Ninja BL770 is noisy, however—especially when using the full-sized jar. Predicted reliability and owner satisfaction are impressive for both versions.
Food Processors
Judging from its name, Ninja probably wants you to know that the Ninja Foodi Ultimate System SS401 is more than a standard food processor. In addition to a reversible shredding and slicing blade, this high-scoring model comes with a dough blade for kneading cookie or bread dough and a two-cup smoothie maker. As a food processor, we find this Ninja to be exceptionally quiet and great at tasks like chopping, shredding, slicing, and grating. This model has a 9-cup capacity. It was $30 less during Prime Day, but this is still a hefty discount.
Cuisinart introduced the food processor to the U.S. in the early 1970s, and it has been a well-recognized brand ever since. The 720-watt Cuisinart Custom 14 DFP-14BCNY has a generous 14-cup capacity and dishwasher-safe parts. It impressed us with its chopping and slicing ability, and shredded with the best of them. This food processor is lever-operated, a good option for those with impaired dexterity, but at nearly 15 pounds it’s among the heaviest in our ratings. Its generous warranty covers parts for three years and the motor for five. We haven’t seen a price this low on this model in more than a year, so now may be the time to snap one up if you’ve been wanting one.
GE may not be the most popular brand of food processor, but the GE G8P1AASSPSS performs basic food processing tasks admirably, chopping, slicing, and shredding with ease. Plus, it has a generous 12-cup capacity. Like most food processors, it’s not great at puréeing; that’s a task better fit for a blender. Its grating ability could be better, but if you don’t grate a lot of cheese, this food processor may be right for you—especially at this price.
Kitchen Tools
Oxo Good Grips Classic Swipe Ice Cream Scoop
This lever-style ice cream scoop is relatively lightweight and has a dishwasher-safe stainless steel round scooper and a plastic handle with grips. It’s incredibly comfortable to hold, and its spring-loaded lever pushed inward with ease, released without getting jammed in our tests.
Comtar Mini Bag Sealer
Justin Huynh, a CR product manager, completely reseals his chips rather than clips them closed. “I personally like using these melting sealers because I often don’t come back to snacks for a long time after opening them, so I feel that this gives them a better shelf life,” he says. “I’ve used multiple sealers before, and they’ve never performed consistently, but this one is the closest. I can get a good seal within 2 tries on this one, and it includes a blade on the inside that can cut the excess bag before sealing. This is also by far the smallest one I’ve gotten, which makes it easy to throw into the pantry for easy access.”
iBayam Kitchen Shears
After testing six pairs of kitchen shears, all three of CR’s evaluators said the iBayam shears felt nice in their hands, were easy to use, and didn’t require them to grip too hard. Plus, you get two pairs of shears for this price, and our testers suggested designating one for cutting meat and one for other kitchen tasks. The one downside is that the shears don’t come apart for cleaning, but the price and the comfort level make them CR’s top choice.
The Meater+ meat thermometer is one of the most reliable digital thermometers. It’s easy to use, and given its top-notch accuracy, you won’t need guesswork to determine the doneness of brisket and other fleshy delights. It’s shaped like a thick ink pen with dual sensors—one for internal temperature and one for ambient temperature—and its size makes it better suited to girthier cuts. The Meater+ transmits temperature readings wirelessly to the companion smartphone app.
Ecolution Micro Pop Microwave Popcorn Popper
If you want a microwave popcorn maker, this BPA-free model was our favorite from our evaluations. It’s glass and dishwasher-safe. But note that it works only with microwaves with a turntable.
